The Clinical Risk Assessments module in PatientSource has the functionality to enable staff, from a cross section of healthcare providers, to record risk assessments across many healthcare disciplines, from Surgery to Rehabilitation.

The focus of Clinical Risk Assessments is patient safety and within PatientSource, patient safety is the very core of the principles the system is built around.

The risk assessments module can be tailored to individual clients and the risk assessments can be altered in line with the standardisation model provided by the client. This approach encourages the client to identify and take sensible and proportionate measures to control the risks. The assessment process itself, is very easy to use consisting mainly of ticklist/dropdown options to select from and this approach, helps clinicians decide whether they should be doing more

for the patient, which in turn results in improved patient care.

Rules-based clinical decision support can trigger further actions such as notifying a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse for patients at risk of Pressure Ulcers, or adding patients at high risk of falls to a Falls Team watchlist.
